“New Year, new you.” You’ve probably heard this saying time and time again, and with it comes people trying all sorts of new experiences to transform themselves. You can make a positive change not only for this year, but also for years to come. Creating a plan for giving can transform the lives of families across northeastern Wisconsin.

As you decide what legacy you will leave, you may be wondering what steps you can take to start your legacy-planning journey. The following 7 steps will help you create a lasting legacy to serve your Catholic parish, school, Bishop’s Appeal Endowment, and many more ministries and Catholic causes that help people discover Jesus.

The Raising Vocations Collection supports ministries that help young people discover Jesus and accompany them on their vocation journey. The Raising Vocations Collection kicks off on August 3-4, 2024. Thank you for supporting our young men and women. Your prayers and gifts are helping our youth encounter Jesus!

Make A Will Month is August, and many people will reflect on how they can share their gifts to serve the Church. The Catholic Foundation partners with families and individuals as they leave a legacy. Through these legacies, families uplift the work of parishes and the Diocese to help more people encounter Jesus and support the Church for years.

The Catholic Foundation is proud to support many incredible ministries throughout northeastern Wisconsin that help people answer God’s call.  One of the ministries that does this is Anchor of Hope TEC (Together Encountering Christ). Through the support of two Catholic Foundation grants, Anchor of Hope will be able to keep supporting young people on their walk with Christ. 

The one by One campaign is strengthening parishes throughout northeastern Wisconsin.  Because of parishioners supporting the one by One campaign, St. Mary of the Seven Dolors Parish was able to begin a large tuck-pointing project and plastering project. 

The Catholic Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) organization established to serve the Catholic community here in northeastern Wisconsin. Life can be challenging. There are times when people feel so lost. They find help through Catholic Charities and the many programs and resources in our Diocese. Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal helps people experience Christ’s love and helps Catholic Charities be able to serve so many people throughout northeastern Wisconsin.

Did you know you can reduce your taxes by making a gift from your IRA directly to charity? If you are 70 1/2 years old or older, you can make a charitable gift up to $100,000 directly from your IRA. This direct distribution can be made to a qualified charity such as your parish, a Catholic school, the Bishop’s Appeal, a diocesan ministry, the Catholic Foundation, or another Catholic charity.
