Did you know you can support the mission of the Church and reduce your taxes at the same time? If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a charitable gift directly from your IRA to a qualified charity—such as your parish, Catholic school, the Bishop’s Appeal, diocesan ministries, or the Catholic Foundation—without paying federal income tax on the amount given. This gift, called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), is a simple and powerful way to live your faith and make an impact.

At youth group, Allie was amazed to hear stories of the Steubenville Youth Conference. She heard of memories made with friends on the bus ride. Peers shared the impact Mass had on them. Allie envisioned Jesus being raised in the monstrance during Adoration, as she reached out for Him. Shortly after, a group from Xavier Catholic School in Appleton was formed to attend this year’s conference. Gifts to the Raising Vocations Collection made attending Steubenville possible for Allie and hundreds of other young men and women from our Diocese.

Make A Will Month is August, and many people will reflect on how they can share their gifts to serve the Church. The Catholic Foundation partners with families and individuals as they leave a legacy. Through these legacies, families uplift the work of parishes and the Diocese to help more people encounter Jesus and support the Church for years.

It is with deep sadness we say farewell to Mimi Ariens, the wife of Mike Ariens one of our founding members of the Catholic Foundation Board of Directors, and 2nd Board President from 2003 – 2006.  Mimi and Mike spent a lifetime committed to leading a stewardship way of life. 

On Monday, July 26th, tornadoes impacted families, parish communities, businesses, and more in the Fox Valley. The Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and Catholic Charities are working to assist our parishes and families in need. Information on ways families and individuals can help support those in need can be found on Catholic Charities’ website.

The Raising Vocations Collection supports ministries that help young people discover Jesus and accompany them on their vocation journey. The Raising Vocations Collection kicks off on August 1-2, 2026. Individuals and families will be receiving a letter from Bishop Ricken asking for their support of the 2026 Raising Vocations Collection.
