It is with a heavy heart the Catholic Foundation announces the passing of Marianne Van Drisse. We ask you to keep her in prayer as we thank God for the faith, service, and dedication she shared during her lifetime. Ash Wednesday kicks off the Lenten season on February 18, 2026, and with it comes many opportunities to grow our faith. Through Lenten observations, there is a recurring theme for this holy, reflective season: we give. With great love, we can give to others.  That is our mission for Lent. Together, we can follow Christ’s example and share our love with thousands throughout northeastern Wisconsin. 

It is with a heavy heart the Catholic Foundation shares the news of the passing of Bishop Robert J. Banks on January 25, 2026. Bishop Banks was 97 years old at his passing from this life and served as our diocesan Bishop from December 5th of 1990 until October 10th of 2003. His motto was, “Blessed be God forever.”

Meet Cheyenne and Austin: a couple impacted by your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal. Because of your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal, the diocesan Office of Marriage and Family Life provides resources and support for parishes as they walk with engaged couples on their marriage-preparation journey.  These resources have inspired hundreds of couples in our Diocese, including Austin and Cheyenne, to place their faith at the center of their relationship.

Pam’s world had unraveled. Her husband was gone. Cancer had left her physically and emotionally drained. The pandemic stole her sense of connection and took the lives of her two closest friends. Alone and overwhelmed, she faced not only sorrow, but also the terrifying reality of financial instability. Because of your support of the Bishop’s Appeal, more than 13,000 people—including Pam—have been served by Catholic Charities right here in northeastern Wisconsin.

The Catholic Foundation is pleased to announce St. Margaret Mary Catholic Community has been awarded an Advancing the Mission Lifelong Catechesis Grant to support its growing Hispanic ministry. This grant will help the parish provide bilingual sacramental preparation resources, ensuring that all parishioners—regardless of language—can fully participate in the Church.

“New Year, new you.” You’ve probably heard this saying time and time again, and with it comes people trying all sorts of new experiences to transform themselves. You can make a positive change not only for this year, but also for years to come. Creating a plan for giving can transform the lives of families across northeastern Wisconsin.

At Fr. Carr’s Place 2B, the mission is clear: no one should face hunger or hardship alone. To ensure this vital ministry continues. Fr. Carr’s Place 2B established a fund with the Catholic Foundation. Today, more than one million souls have been touched by its mission of compassion, rooted in the Gospel of Matthew: “Feed the hungry, care for the sick, and welcome the stranger.”

So many children are discovering Jesus thanks to the Camp Tekakwitha Endowment, which supports the camp’s greatest needs—from scholarships and building improvements to year-round and summer programming. This endowment ensures that no child is turned away due to financial hardship and that the camp continues to thrive as a place of spiritual growth, community, and joy.
