“Give and you will receive a hundred-fold. It’s amazing how giving is good for the soul,” shared Ken Deterville, who along with his wife Ruth, started the St. Faustina Endowment for Catholic Charities. The Detervilles’ generous and sustaining gift funds the services Catholic Charities provides for expectant birth mothers through their adoption program.

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of many people in our parishes, the 2021 Catholic Foundation Missionary Cooperation Plan Appeal (MCP) raised a record $425,260.65 in support of missionary groups.  $11,191,07 was distributed to each of the missionary groups that participated in our 2021 Appeal.  This is the largest-ever distribution provided through our MCP.

Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal makes it possible for Catholic Charities to help thousands of people in Northeast Wisconsin. For many in our communities, Catholic Charities can provide a lifeline of hope. Their caring counselors live their faith and work to share the healing love of our Lord with those who need it most.

Lourdes Academy in Oshkosh is making their dream of a unified campus for students from 4-year-old Kindergarten to grade 12 a reality. In recognition of this success of this campus building project, Bishop David Ricken celebrated Mass and blessed part of the new building during a visit to Lourdes Academy.

During this Holy Easter season, we rejoice with the disciples in Christ’s resurrection.  Our risen Lord is our salvation and our renewal.  On behalf of the Catholic Foundation, we wish you a most Happy Easter filled with the joy and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“It is sacred furniture that is set apart for holy things, to be the table of the Lord himself, where His Body and Blood are offered every time we have Mass,” said Bishop David Ricken.  Bishop Ricken was speaking about the consecration of a new altar at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Green Bay.  The parish was able to make the renewal of their sanctuary a priority through the one by One capital campaign.

Imagine being back in the time of Mary and Joseph. You are searching for a warm place to spend the night while expecting the birth of your child. You arrive in town, only to be told that there is no room to stay at the inn. As Catholics, we know the rest of this miraculous story. Yet for people who are not actively practicing their faith, does simply knowing the story of His birth open their hearts for them to truly discover Jesus?

“This is a gift of hope,” said Bishop David Ricken.  These words from Bishop Ricken refer to the groundbreaking on a new learning center at Holy Family Parish in Brillion, WI.  The new learning center was made possible through the one by One capital campaign managed by the Catholic Foundation. 

Recently, Hurricane Ida made landfall in the United States Gulf Coast resulting in the tragic loss of life and widespread damage to people’s homes and businesses. For all who have been affected by this disaster, we pray for healing and a better tomorrow. Please know you can contribute to relief efforts.
