CRS Rice Bowl Puts Faith into Action

“Put your faith into action.”  As Lent begins, this is a great call for us all to answer.  Prayer, fasting, and almsgiving are important practices to live out your faith and bring Christ to others.  The CRS Rice Bowl is the initiative to do just that.

CRS Rice Bowl is the Lenten program of Catholic Relief Services. Through CRS Rice Bowl, Catholics in the United States are invited to put their faith into action through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. In addition to the familiar cardboard box for collecting Lenten alms, CRS also provides resources for activities, reflections, and stories.  The funds collected through CRS Rice Bowl are not only used globally, but also locally, with 25% of donations being used for a grant program within the Diocese.

This grant funds projects that benefit Northeastern Wisconsin immigrant or refugee populations who are struggling to meet their basic needs (such as food, shelter, healthcare, literacy, and counseling services).  Organizations based in the 16 counties within the Diocese of Green Bay are invited to submit CRS Rice Bowl grant applications.

CRS Rice Bowl Grant Applications are open February 14th – March 29th, 2024.  For complete grant criteria and information on how to apply, please visit www.catholicfoundationgb.org/rice today.  Together, we can put our faith into action!
