CRS Rice Bowl Puts Faith into Action

“Put your faith into action.”  As we begin the season of Easter, this call invites each of us to live our faith more intentionally. Prayer, fasting, and almsgiving are central Lenten practices that help draw us closer to Christ and bring His love to others. One meaningful way to do this is through the CRS Rice Bowl program.

CRS Rice Bowl, the Lenten initiative of Catholic Relief Services, encourages Catholics across the United States to engage deeply in the pillars of Lent. Along with the familiar cardboard bowl for collecting alms, CRS provides reflections, activities, and stories that inspire a spirit of solidarity. The donations collected through Rice Bowl support life-changing programs around the world and within our own communities.

The funds collected through CRS Rice Bowl are not only used globally, but also locally, with 25% of donations being used for a grant program within the Catholic Foundation. The grant program aids immigrants and refugees in Northeastern Wisconsin who are struggling to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, healthcare, and literacy. Organizations within the 16 counties of the Diocese of Green Bay are invited to apply for CRS Rice Bowl grants to support this important work.

CRS Rice Bowl Grant Applications are open April 7 – June 1, 2026.  For complete grant criteria and information on how to apply, please visit www.catholicfoundationgb.org/rice today.  Together, we can put our faith into action!
