Catholic Foundation Grant Helps Faith Formation

“Thanks to the grant from the Catholic Foundation, it is all free for our Catholic school staff, our parishes and for all Curia staff who might be interested as well,” said Maximus Cabey, Child & Youth Faith Formation Director for the Diocese of Green Bay. Maximus spoke with The Compass newspaper for the Diocese about an exciting new program of instruction made available from the Catholic Foundation Advancing the Mission grant.

In the Diocese of Green Bay, the Families and Schools of Discipleship Mission Team has started a new catechetical formation program to help Catholic school and faith formation staff earn their Foundational Catechetical Certification (FCC). This certification is required of staff in our Catholic schools and faith formation programs. The new program is called “Franciscan at Home” and is offered online through the Catechetical Institute at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.

This is exciting news because our Catholic School educators and staff will receive top quality training to teach students our faith. Also, anyone who wants to learn more about their Catholic faith can sign up for the program for free! There is no cost to individuals or institutions who wish to enroll because of this grant provided by the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Green Bay. The Foundation is able to provide these grants because of the generosity of many people who give to help others. For this, we are so very grateful.
