Millions of people from around the world watched with great sadness as fire tore through the historic Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. This iconic Cathedral has been a welcoming place of worship and pilgrimage for more than eight centuries. It housed essential relics, including those related to the crucifixion of Christ. The impact of the fire on the faithful of the city and of the world is immense and the full extent will not be known for some time.
