Before starting his public ministry Jesus spent 40 days on retreat in the desert. The Diocese of Green Bay helps Catholics withdraw from their normal activities to spend time with God in prayer and reflection at Holy Name Retreat House on Chambers Island in Door County.
A silent retreat amid the beauty of nature on an island in the Bay of Green Bay includes Mass, group prayer, personal counseling, private reading, and spiritual presentations. Retreatants can go away for a day of reflection, or for three days or a week with the guidance of a trained retreat leader or spiritual director.
The spring, summer and early fall schedule offers mid-week and weekend retreats for men, women, and mixed groups. There are also opportunities for private, self-directed retreats.
Your support helps keep retreats affordable, provides for care of the retreat house, and the ongoing existence of this spiritual jewel.
