Foundation Supports Shepherd School

Shepherd School helps prepare and equip new pastors and pastoral leaders for leadership roles in parishes. Since 2008, over 80 leaders have completed this two-year formation program, and grants from the Advancing the Mission Leadership Development Endowment have been instrumental in making it affordable for participants and their parishes.

Shepherd School equips participants to become leaders of their parishes.  From reviewing a financial report to discussing styles of leadership, from prioritizing one’s prayer life to forming disciples, Shepherd School covers a wide gamut of parish leadership.  Participants discuss actual situations in their parishes to help each other grow as leaders.

“This is perhaps the most important tool we provide for our newer pastors and pastoral leaders,” said Fr. Tom Long, who helps to lead the program.  “They learn they are not alone, and they can turn to each other as well as many people in the diocesan offices and parishes for assistance.” For more information about the Catholic Foundation, contact Cindi Brawner or Josh Diedrich at 920-272-8181 or [email protected]
