Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is the official international humanitarian agency
of the Catholic community in the United States. CRS supports Catholic Church organizations that carry out international relief and solidarity efforts. Programs include relief and resettlement for victims of persecution, war, and natural disasters; development projects to improve living conditions for the poor; legal and support services for poor immigrants; peace and reconciliation work for people suffering from violence; and advocacy on behalf of the powerless.
The World Missions Office for the Diocese of Green Bay supports:
- Operation Rice Bowl is a Lenten faith in action program for families and faith communities. Through CRS Rice Bowl, stories are shared of people in need around the globe. Lenten prayers, fasting and gifts are offered to help the poor across the world. 75% of Rice Bowl donations support global programs, 25% is used to alleviate hunger in local communities.
